Caroline Ji is a self-taught artist with a previous background in engineering. After a brief time in the corporate world of semiconductors, she decided that life was short and took the leap of faith to painting. She first picked up oil painting in 2014 and has been practicing as a full-time professional artist since 2015.
Caroline's work takes root from memories and life experiences, coupled with a hazy understanding of identity. Portraiture and floral are currently her dominating motifs as they allow for personal and intimate introspection. Her current body of work focuses on having an understated narrative and using the mood to tell the story.
Caroline received her BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2012. Her paintings are collected in private collections across Canada, USA, Germany, and Brazil. She has exhibited in the Greater Toronto Area in Canada.
