Explore the world of design by starting with the basic rules.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
In this course, students will learn design and composition techniques with a strong technical foundation.
By focusing on the technical principles of form construction, perspective, and geometry, we will empower students to approach design with more confidence and play.
We will then learn design techniques such as shape language, chiaroscuro, and linear rhythms to create simple and strong graphic reads in our compositions.
With a strong composition as our blueprint we will take it to a final quality suitable for client presentation.
YOU WILL LEARN:
– Shape language
– Perspective and camera lenses
– Form built from shadow
– Design principles ranging from depth cues to chiaroscuro to sell your statement
–How to confidently build, use, and rely on your graphic comp to create balanced designs.

I am a passionate concept designer with a high level of proficiency in both 2D and 3D techniques. My primary focus is character design but I also have a passion for environment, prop/industrial design.
I am self driven and continually motivated to create and explore new techniques and workflows to push my designs forward.
I have over 3 years experience in Games, Film and TV as a Concept Artist and Digital Matte Painter.
I recently worked on a VR project called Blasters of the Universe now available on Steam and I am currently working on an unannounced VR game, developing content from concept art to final in-game assets.
